Ryan Cordell is a Ph.D. Candidate in the University of Virginia’s English Department. He currently directs UVA’s Writing Center and is writing his dissertation, “‘That Great Burning Day’: Apocalyptic in Antebellum Literature and Culture.” Ryan will defend his dissertation in July 2010.

Ryan will start in August 2010 as Assistant Professor of English and Director of Writing-Across-the-Curriculum at St. Norbert College.

Ryan also helps with the Red Schoolhouse project, a new website that aims to supplement writing instruction at UVA and bring UVA’s Little Red Schoolhouse writing curriculum into high schools and colleges around the country.
